Die Sai
The
Sai is a small metal trident whose side points protect the hand
when blocking and whose tip can be used for striking or stabbing.
The Sai are normally always used in pairs. It is the only Kobudo weapon that was originally designed as a
weapon. The Sai is between 45 cm and 54 cm long. It is the ideal size when it is held with the hand in
the side points and rests on the forearm, protruding backwards over it by about 2 to 3 cm.
As a
Rapid Rotation Baton it has also found its way to the police and security services (but here it is made of plastic).
