Die Kama
The Kama is a sickle that still has a firm place in
gardening and agricultural crafts in Asia. It is now also available in the garden departments of hardware stores.
The size is ideally tailored to the wearer. The handle should be roughly the same length as the forearm so that it
can be used for blocking. In Kobudo, the blade can also be made of wood. If it is made of metal, it should definitely
be blunt and the tip should also be rounded. We practice a martial art, but we don't want to injure our sports partner unnecessarily.
In any case, it is important to ensure that the blade is firmly attached to the handle so that it cannot come loose
during defensive techniques and fly uncontrollably through the air (see above).
